The group of 40 people that arrived to the beautiful mountains of Duffield, Virginia didn't know how the week would begin, or for that matter, how it would end.

The mountains of Virginia are swarming with older people that are poor and living in old mobile homes that have become trash heaps.

We spent the week being with these lovely elderly people just talking to them, listening to them and cleaning for them. So they could live in a better environment. As the project got closer to the end, we had a huge storm. Our town nd surrounding towns got flooded and power outages were everywhere. Including 3 homes that caught on fire and were lost. Our very last day we were supposed to have a free afternoon to relax with the kids since they worked hard all week. But because of the need the kids stepped up and chose to work on the towns to help the people that had lost things or were hungry. They went to the homeless and loved on kids at the Boy and Girls Club. They worked extra longer that day.

It was such an amazing picture of seeing the Body of Christ step up and sacrifice their plans for God's plans.

  1. Praise God! What a blessing to read about these young people and their hearts to continue to serve in spite of being tired. God bless you all richly!
