The team arrived this afternoon excited to jump right into ministry!

We split into two groups.  One group went to the house of a lady named Ms. Sylvia where they organized a shed and did some yard work. The team was really touched that Ms. Sylvia care about them as much as they cared about her.  The second group went to the home of the McAvoy's and filled in a trench so that the family could have an Easter egg hunt next weekend with their grandkids.  Mr. McAvoy has stage 4 lung/ brain cancer and one of the students, Tabitha, was able to share her story about how God healed her father with stage 4 cancer!

The running theme of tonight's debrief was unity, and the group leaders commented about how incredible it was to see the students not only working together, but truly loving each other, as well as the families they were helping. The word "family" came up... what it means to be brothers and sisters in Christ, and how that can be a part of their everyday lives in their hometown.

Looking forward to another day of ministry tomorrow.
Looks like it will be raining all day tomorrow... please pray for us to be open to whatever God leads our group to do!
