Hello everyone at Aldersgate!

We have arrived safely in Tennessee and are already experiencing the amazing movements of God in Hawkins County.  It is 10:15 PM Monday evening and we just finished up our first full day of ministry and I am hourly amazed at God’s provision and faithfulness.  Our first day found us making a 30 minute trip to the Hawkins County Boys and Girls Club where we were cheerfully greeted by nearly 75 boys and girls ranging in age from 5-15.

We spent nearly 3 hours laughing, playing, painting nails (even the boys got their nails painted! ), and meeting some incredible young people and listening to their stories.  It was incredible to watch our group interact and love on the kids of the club.  So many of our students made connections and we were able to hear the incredible stories of these kids.  We heard many stories of heart break, loneliness and triumph.  It never ceases to amaze me that even though we come from completely different walks of life with completely different stories that somehow our stories are the same and somehow God has a way of using us to build each other up.  Many of our kids are also experiencing God in new ways and learning to rely completely on Him and to give up to Him any worries or anxiety they might have about sharing their faith.

We will be heading back to the kids club later this week and we’ll also be working at a thrift store, doing sports ministries at a nearby park and participating in prayer walks (prayer walks are trips on foot through a community or an outside area that are lead by God and interspersed with prayer).
